Areas To Be Treated for Mosquitoes: Antioch
Due to the detection of the invasive species Aedes aegypti mosquito in the area, the Contra Costa Mosquito and Vector Control District (District) will be using truck-mounted, wide-area larvicide application equipment to control larval mosquitoes in the following area: Antioch.
DATE: Friday, June 12, 2026
TIME: Between 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., weather permitting.
LOCATION: Antioch
The area to be treated is bordered on the north by Mountaire Drive and Ashburton Drive; on the south by Brookside Drive and Burwood Way; on the east by Barmouth Drive; and on the west by Garrow Drive.

Materials Used: The public health pesticide to be used is VectoBac WDG, which is a bacterial larvicide that only impacts mosquito larvae — the young mosquitoes as they grow in the water. This bacterial larvicide does not impact other insects or animals. The public health pesticide will be applied at a rate of 8 ounces per acre by truck-mounted Wide Area Larvicide Spray equipment.
